About the Role
We are currently seeking a full-time Quality Assurance Technician to join our Portmans team on a permanent full-time basis from April 2025.
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, this integral role works closely with the Product team to ensure that each garment is created to the design specifications and quality standards of the Brand.
Responsibilities
Ensuring high quality standards are met Working with the Product Team to understand and interpret styling instructions Chair fit sessions ensuring buyers and QA comments are collated for the supplier Providing technical advice on the suitability of styling and fabrics Liaising with offshore and local suppliers Receiving, analysing, and approving fabric reports, graded specs, and the appropriate care labelling from suppliers Giving clear and detailed reports, direction, and feedback to suppliers Filing and updating relevant computer data Skills & Experience
Minimum of 3 years experience as a Garment Technologist.
Multi-product experience is required.
A sound knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, garment grading, and a full understanding of the fit process.
Previous experience with a Curve range is advantageous.
Experience in fabric testing and understanding of garment construction & technology.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Effective time management and prioritisation skills.
