The Associate Clinic Administrator is responsible for serving as the site administrator of a licensed clinic in the absence of the Administrator and for performing administrative functions delegated by the Administrator.
This position collaborates with the Clinic Administrator, Medical Director, Director of Nursing, Director of Women's Health, and the Clinical Services Director to supervise/monitor staff, implement clinic policies and procedures, and to resolve problems.
Reports to: Clinic Administrator Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Health, Public Health, or Business Administration or related field.
Or 5 or more years as a Business Office Manager at NEVHC with experience supervising 10 or more employees directly or indirectly.
Three (3) years progressive experience and responsibility in a health care setting.
Two of those years must have been in direct supervision.
Some positions require particular expertise in special populations or subject matter (e.g.
Homeless, HIV, adolescents).
A working knowledge of billing and collections, management information systems.
Thorough working knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, and contemporary general office practices and procedures.
Math skills sufficient to prepare routine spreadsheets, calculate/balance invoices/expense reports, and similar.
Basic leadership skills.
Demonstrated supervisory skills sufficient to supervise from 10 or more employees.
Computer skills in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.
), electronic health record systems, and database systems.
Typing/data entry skills sufficient to meet production requirements.
Effective verbal and written communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and others.
Very effective oral and written communications skills including public speaking experience.
Effective work organization skills.
Ability to work effectively as a team player.
Ability to be flexible and work in a changing environment.
Sensitivity to the different cultures represented among members and staff.
Demonstrated ability to listen and communicate with others in a professional and caring manner including sensitivity with individuals from diverse cultures and lifestyles.
Demonstrated ability to set priorities for tasks to work effectively in spite of interruptions and under minimal supervision.
Self-starter, reliable and dependable.
Demonstrated proficiency with the electronic health record database within three months of attending training session(s).
Fluency in English (speak, read and write).
Fluency in Spanish (speak, translate, read and write).
Ability to solve problems and make routine recommendations.
Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality about health care and other patient/client information.
Current California driver's license, appropriate insurance coverage and a driving record acceptable to the NEVHC's insurance carrier (if required to drive on the job).
