The Role You will be responsible for delivering a cutting-edge curriculum at Sheldon College.
Working with a dynamic team of dedicated educators, your goal will be to enhance the capabilities of students within the cohort you are teaching using expert knowledge and experience for continuity of our students' learning.
Learning and Teaching Plan and deliver exceptional teaching, learning, and wellbeing programs for students which:are consistent with relevant syllabus documents, curriculum policies, work programs, and educational trends,address the needs of the learner and differentiate learning experiences, andensure students meet the highest levels of academic performance.Utilise highly effective and evidence-based teaching routines and strategies.Integrate connected and real-world learning opportunities for student collaboration across multiple curriculum areas.Maintain teaching competency and currency of knowledge of teaching practices to improve student achievement, with a focus on literacy and numeracy, as well as general educational trends.Ability to apply creative and innovative practices and processes in education and digital platform tools to support student learning.Engage with students in ongoing feedback loops.Use a wide range of formative and summative assessments to moderate and make consistent and informed-student judgements.Emphasise reflection and self-directed learning with a commitment to continuously improve teaching practices.Wellbeing and Student Management Support students through the active development of a safe, secure learning environment ensuring follow-up and communication with Student Services and relevant leadership.Provide for the physical, social, cultural, and emotional wellbeing and physical safety of students, and escalate concerns as required.Maintain high standards of dress and appearance, actively promote the College's Values, and adhere to the College's Staff Code of Conduct, Duty of Care Handbook, workplace health, and safety requirements, as well as all other policies, procedures, and guidelines.Participate in faculty meetings, school decision-making processes, professional learning, camps, incursions/excursions activities as required or directed.Position Requirements Relevant tertiary teaching qualifications in any of Early Year, Primary or Secondary teaching areas.Registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT).Relevant and up-to-date training in child protection and mandatory reporting.Ability to plan and deliver exceptional teaching and learning programs that meet the needs of students according to ACARA and QCAA.Ability and willingness to contribute positively and support each individual 'Achieve the Extraordinary'.Passion for quality teaching and learning and the ability to translate this into a challenging learning environment with strong student engagement and excellent academic outcomes.Ability to create a safe, secure learning environment in which trust is fostered, individual differences are respected and valued, and students are encouraged to be risk-takers and self-directed learners.Ability to establish effective relationships with students, parents, and colleagues and partnerships within the wider community if required in your capacity as a TRT.High standards of personal integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.Ability to be a proactive and collaborative member of a team.A warm, welcoming and friendly disposition.Sound understanding of wellbeing issues as related to students.To apply online, please click on the APPLY link.
