An exciting and unique opportunity exists for a talented and passionate individual to join the Community Relations & Heritage Branch in the First Peoples-State Relations Group as The Heritage Registry Project Officer at the Department of Premier and Cabinet.The First Peoples - State Relations Group in DPC is seeking talented and passionate individuals committed to progressing the Victorian Government's nation-leading work with First Peoples. This role will contribute to the ground-breaking work of the Group in the areas of truth, treaty, self-determination, and cultural rights.The Heritage Registry Project Officer supports the administration of the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006 (the Act) by maintaining the Victorian Aboriginal Heritage Register (VAHR). The role also plays an active role in engaging and building partnerships across communities, government, and industry to improve understanding of the VAHR and to ensure stakeholders are supported in the registration of Aboriginal places.The First Peoples - State Relations Group welcomes applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and strongly encourages all interested candidates to apply.About YouAs our ideal candidate, you will have:Demonstrated information system management skills and knowledge and experience in the management of database systems.Demonstrated conceptual and analytical skills, with the ability to show initiative and a proactive approach in identifying issues and developing appropriate solutions.Highly-developed interpersonal and negotiation skills, with an ability to establish effective working relationships and provide advice on processes and policies to a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.Strong organisational and time management skills including the ability to prioritise and achieve various tasks within tight timeframes.Demonstrated ability and commitment to a team-based approach in an environment subject to work pressures and change.The closing date for this position is Thursday 05 December 2024.How to applyApply before the advertised closing date.
