Director Emergency Preparedness ResponseThe acquisition of conventionally-armed, nuclear-powered submarines is a historic and transformative endeavor for Australia.
The whole-of-nation effort to safely and securely deliver the cutting-edge nuclear-powered submarine program will transform Australia's economic and national security landscape for decades to come.
The Emergency Preparedness Response (EPR) team is responsible for the planning, development, and delivery of Emergency Preparedness Response plans to the crew of Nuclear Powered submarines.
As the EL2 – Director Emergency Preparedness Response (DEPR), you will exercise a significant degree of independence and perform an important leadership role, managing the greater Emergency Preparedness Response team.
You will be responsible for influencing and developing strategies, policies, priorities, and operational practices in support of Defence objectives based on high-level decision-making and judgment.
You will provide strategic advice to senior management and stakeholders, as well as lead and assume accountability for very complex work or work programs that have strategic, political, and operational significance.
This position has people management responsibility, and as such, you will be required to exercise your people management skills and knowledge to lead a high-performing and cohesive team.
This role may require periods of Overseas Training in the UK and/or USA. Monitor and report emergency preparedness response progress.Conduct assessments and Emergency Preparedness Response readiness evaluations.Monitor the effectiveness and relevance of all training provided to the submarine crew both onboard and ashore.Monitor safety and operational standards across the full range of submarine activities.Assist the Commanding Officer of the submarine to achieve safety and emergency preparedness standards.Provide feedback to TA-SM on syllabus training standards.Application Closing Date: Sunday 24 November 2024 For further information please review the job information pack, reference ASA/09595/24 on Defence Careers.
