Dawson is located at the southern end of the Bowen Basin in Central Queensland, being just over a 2hrs drive west from either Rockhampton or Gladstone, or 4.5hrs drive north of the Darling Downs or South Burnett.

Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world.
In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland's Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.
Job DescriptionWe are currently seeking experienced Diesel Fitters to join the Workshop Maintenance team at our Dawson Mine in Moura, QLD.
To be successful in this role, you will ensure compliance with all Anglo American safety and operating systems and have a commitment to working together as part of a team to achieve business objectives.
Your core accountabilities will include:
Ensure that plant and equipment is maintained to a high levelUndertake troubleshooting, fault finding, breakdown and preventative maintenance on Heavy Mobile EquipmentAchieve performance targets in compliance with statutory, safety, health, budget and environmental requirementsKnowledge of SAP and Auto Electrical experience is not essential but highly desirable.QualificationsMechanical Trade QualificationHold a current Australian Manual Drivers LicenceMinimum of C Class Manual Drivers LicenceExperience with safety management systemsExperience within a mining Mobile Maintenance OperationsHIAB, EWP, Forklift, Dogging and Rigging Certificates (desirable)Additional Information7 on, 7 off DN rosterCompetitive pay ratesAttractive over-time ratesSubsidised accommodationFlight salary sacrificing optionsTraining, upskilling & career progressionEmployee Incentive ProgramWhat we OfferWhen you join Anglo American, you can expect to enjoy a competitive salary and benefits package.
