About the Role
As the Senior Economist, you will take on a leadership role within our research team, at Domain as a market leader in economic research and analysis.
You will be responsible for managing property price forecasting models, conducting cutting-edge research on housing markets, and producing insightful reports that guide key decision-making in the property industry.
This is a 6-month contract, with a strong potential to go permanent for the right candidate.
You'll play an integral part in delivering high-impact economic insights while collaborating across multiple teams and engaging with industry stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and develop forecasting models and housing market indicators.
Conduct in-depth research, collecting and interpreting economic, statistical, and demographic data.
Prepare high-quality reports and briefings on market trends, policy impacts, and key economic announcements.
Customer-first thinking, helping to provide solutions and insights that meet our customers' needs.
Translate data and research findings into consumable insights for various stakeholders, including internal teams and external partners.
Collaborate closely with our PR, content, product, and data science teams to shape messaging and drive thought leadership.
About You:
You are an analytical and forward-thinking economist who thrives in dynamic environments.
You have a knack for storytelling, translating complex analysis into easy-to-understand insights.
You are proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable working with diverse stakeholders to deliver timely and impactful economic insights.
What We're Looking For
Master's degree or first-class honours in economics, econometrics, property economics, data science or a related field.
Direct experience in economic or data analysis and statistics (property research experience highly desirable).
Proven experience developing economic models and forecasting techniques.
Strong quantitative research skills with the ability to work autonomously on complex projects.
Knowledge of Australian economic data frameworks and experience with ABS and national accounts.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience presenting research findings to stakeholders.
