Provide high level dental assisting to eligible patients of the School Dental Service (SDS) in Metro North Oral Health Services.
Key Responsibilities To provide high level dental assisting to eligible patients of the School Dental Service (SDS) in Metro North Oral Health Services (MNOHS).
To assist in the professional development of dental assistants.
To provide efficient and effective management of dental assistants to achieve service agreement targets and budget integrity.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
Maintain the clinical environment in a safe and hygienic state and undertake supportive duties, such as maintenance of instruments and equipment.
Monitor and organise supplies and stores and reorder stock of dental instruments, dental materials and office requisites as required.
Provide supervision, leadership, direction, and support to your team of Dental Assistants to ensure the efficient operations of SDS and manage their performance appraisal and staff development.
Manage planned and unplanned leave of Dental Assistants to minimise the impact on clinical service delivery.
Monitor the collection of quality data critical to the operation of the service, specifically infection control and radiography.
Ensure sterilisation of instruments meets appropriate standards.
Work collaboratively with the Director, SDS, Principal Dentist, SDS and other Senior Dental Assistants to conduct service activities (e.g.
recruitment and selection processes).
