To set it up for future success, the unit has recently gone through an operating model change, which has created a new role: Head of Learning and Organisation Development.The RoleReporting into the Executive Director, People and Culture, the Head of Learning and Organisation Development will provide leadership to a team of 7 members of the Learning and Organisation Development team (including 3 direct reports), bringing together specialists within the two disciplines.The Head of Learning and Organisation Development ensures that the University's workforce remains skilled, adaptable, and engaged. The role is responsible for leading the strategic planning, development, and implementation of comprehensive learning and organisational development programs aimed at enhancing the professional growth and performance of academic and professional staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and organisational excellence.The role also encompasses liaising with the Head of Partnering and Workplace Relations and Strategic Business Partners in the implementation of UTS wide plans, designing, and aligning organisation design and workforce plans, learning and development programs, as well as leadership, management and cultural initiatives aimed at enhancing organisational effectiveness and employee satisfaction.Finer Details:Responsible for crafting a comprehensive learning and Organisation Development strategy aligned with university goals and objectives.Develop and maintain the UTS Organisation Design framework process and tools.Develop and maintain the UTS Workforce Planning framework process and tools.Ensure the integration of Workforce plans into Workday Establishment and organisation management processes.Design, implement, and evaluate various training and development programs to address skill gaps.Develop programs specifically targeted at grooming and nurturing leadership talent within the university.Collaborate with the Strategic Business Partners in the design and implementation of strategies aimed at improving organisational effectiveness.Collaborate with Strategic BPs and People Operations managers to establish performance management systems.Working closely with Strategic Business Partners to identify high-potential employees and design succession plans.Leverage learning technology tools to deliver effective and engaging learning experiences.Utilise data analytics to measure the effectiveness of learning and development programs.Build strong relationships with key stakeholders within the PU and across the university.Ensure that learning and development programs comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.The CandidateTo be successful in this role, you will be a proven Learning and Organisation Development leader with the ability to build effective relationships and influence key stakeholders from across the University. You will demonstrate:A minimum of 10 years of experience in learning and development, organisational development, or a related area.Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.Strong strategic thinking and planning abilities.Proven experience in designing and implementing successful learning and development programs.Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and best practices.Strong people management skills and extensive experience leading teams.Demonstrated ability to lead and influence change.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to build collaborative relationships across diverse groups.Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.Strong project management skills and attention to detail.Proficiency in using learning management systems and other relevant technology.Master's degree in Organisation Psychology, Human Resources, Organisational Development, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.This is a particularly exciting opportunity at a critical time in UTS' trajectory as Australia's leading technology university.
