PM Design Group is one of the largest and fastest growing truly locally owned consulting engineering companies servicing regional Victoria.
We provide innovative Civil, Structural, Building Services and Mechanical Process engineering design and documentation for an exciting variety of projects across multiple sectors.
As a result of our rapid growth and innovative practices, we have expanded across six offices including Ballarat, Geelong, Horsham, Laverton North, Portland and Warrnambool.
The Role We are looking for a focused and performance driven individual, with both extensive technical experience and the leadership skills required to lead a team of structural engineers and drafters.
While leading and mentoring your team, you will remain hands-on in leading projects and/or performing project engineering design, including that of a complex technical nature - demanding a considerable degree of originality, innovation, ingenuity, and judgement.
You may be an established Senior Structural Engineer with your sight set on a leadership role or already a Team Leader looking for a change and a great lifestyle.
To be the right person you will have the highly developed skills and knowledge to design and document the structural components associated with residential, commercial and industrial projects, and equally important, a high level of commercial awareness, and project management understanding.

This role reports to the Engineering Manager, working with our engineering team across all offices to deliver a diverse and exciting project portfolio across multiple sectors.
About You To be considered for this role you will need to meet the following criteria:
Mandatory:
8+ years in experience as a Structural Engineer.
5+ years local (Australian) applied design and documentation experience in an engineering consultancy in a Structural Engineer role.
Multiple sector design and documentation experience in timber, masonry, concrete and steel.
Ability to manage and lead projects to ensure that all project deliverables meet quality, budget and timeline requirements.
Thorough knowledge of relevant local (Australian) codes, standards, authority requirements and legislation.
Relevant site experience including supervision, investigation and subsequent report writing.
Proven ability to compile Scope of Work documents and Fee Proposals.
Highly proficient in Space Gass, Structural Toolkit and RAPT.
Excellent staff and client interfacing skills.
High level of attention to detail.
Demonstrable ability to work in a team environment.
Strong commercial focus.
4-year Bachelor of Engineering Degree or equivalent program accredited by Engineers Australia.
Registered as a Professional Engineer and endorsed to work in the building industry by the Business Licensing Authority of Victoria.
Current Victorian/Australian Driver's Licence.
Proven experience in being a Team Leader.
Proficient in Inducta, or other modelling software such as ETABS.
Construction Industry White Card.
Chartered Professional Engineer CPEng with Engineers Australia.
