The Project Manager - Education Specialist will lead VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM) and Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC) reform, policy development, and implementation, providing expertise, stakeholder consultation, and professional learning for schools.
The VCAA is a statutory body responsible to the Victorian Minister for Education, serving both government and non-government schools.
We provide high quality curriculum, assessment and reporting for all Victorian students birth to 18 years.
An exciting opportunity exists to join the Senior Secondary Certificate Reform Division (SSCRD) in fixed term full-time position from 1 January 2025 - 30 June 2026.
Fixed term position till 30 June 2026
Usual hours of work: Full time (flexible work conditions are available)
About the Division
In 2020 the Victorian Government committed to implementing the recommendations made in the Review into Vocational and Applied Learning Pathways in Senior Secondary Schooling (the Firth Review) to improve vocational and applied learning options for Victorian students.
VCAA's role in this reform is to implement, manage and continue to develop the VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM) and Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC) - the qualifications, curriculum and assessment.
Senior Secondary Certificate Reform Division (SSCRD) are leading and implementing this generational reform.
The reforms are supporting all Victorian secondary students to access engaging curriculum where they can connect their learning to real-life and workplace experiences.
Role Purpose
The Project Manager - Education Specialist will work within the VCAA Senior Secondary Certificate Reform Division (SSCRD) to lead implementation and change in relation to certification, curriculum and assessment associated with the VCE VM and the VPC.
The role will include:
Leading and contributing to major reform projects including;
the proposed VCE VM assessment model
the next steps of policy development and implementation for the integrated VCE
development and delivery of best practice professional learning to teachers and schools.
Providing specialist expertise and professional knowledge in relation to senior secondary certificate and curriculum reform.
Demonstrating strategic and intellectual leadership in relation to senior secondary certificate and curriculum reform and provide input to policy and program development for other related reforms.
Developing briefings and papers for consideration by the Secretary, Ministers, governance and stakeholder committees.
Consulting with stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes for Victorian students.
Designing and delivering programs to support schools to implement the VCE VM and VPC curriculum and certificates with fidelity, and to ensure the new qualifications are embedded within the VCE.

Experience and Qualifications
Essential: You have experience developing and delivering professional learning in senior secondary curriculum especially in applied learning programs to teachers and/or professionals.
Essential: You bring experience developing, delivering and supporting teachers to understand best practice assessment in applied learning.
Essential: You have Leading teacher, Learning Specialist qualification or similar/equivalent experience in an educational setting.
Desirable: A graduate or post-graduate qualification in assessment, applied learning, or a related field.
Desirable: You have demonstrated experience developing and implementing policy.
