We are seeking a motivated Junior Intellectual Property Lawyer to join our team and contribute to the success of our clients while growing their expertise in this exciting area of law.
As a Junior Intellectual Property Lawyer, you will assist our team in providing expert advice and support to clients on a variety of IP matters.
You will work closely with experienced lawyers, gaining hands-on experience in a range of areas, including trademark registration, patent applications, IP litigation, and licensing agreements.
This role offers excellent opportunities for career growth and professional development.
As our Junior Intellectual Property Lawyer, you will:
Support the team in advising clients on trademark, copyright, patent, and design matters
Conduct legal research on IP matters, staying updated on the latest IP laws, regulations, and trends
Assist with the registration of trademarks, patents, and designs including preparing and submitting applications
Review and draft IP agreements, including licensing, confidentiality, and distribution agreements
Contribute to client meetings, offering insights and supporting the team in client-facing activities
Proactively build pipeline of new client acquisitions and repeat business from existing clients to meet agreed revenue targets and to also take strategic account management approach to maintaining relationships and forward planning with key clients
Represent our firm at networking and other targeted industry events
Meet professional development/CPD requirements
Comply with Law Institute of Victoria and the Legal Services Board and compliance with the Uniform Law and Australian Solicitors Conduct Rules

Skills & Experience include:
Minimum of two years PAE in commercial law
Strong service oriented and client centred approach to your work
Excellent verbal and written communication skills – ability to converse with a diverse range of people as well as set and manage realistic expectations
Proven track record in building a sales/case pipeline and ability to build and maintain effective relationships and referral networks with a collaborative and consultative approach
Solid organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities, schedule workflow, meet deadlines and manage clients and other parties to keep all on track
Well-developed analytical skills with strong attention to detail
