The Director of Learning & Teaching monitors and evaluates improvement in the quality of learning and teaching in the College, working collaboratively in regards to specific directions in pedagogy and curriculum pertaining to secondary education, consistent with the overall vision for teaching and learning at the College.This role will work collaboratively and support a range of internal and external stakeholders within the Edmund Rice College community, ensuring careful stewardship of the College's resources.This position requires flexibility in working hours and will require work at times, outside of school hours to ensure the effective operation of the College.About YouThe successful candidate will be a highly experienced operator in leading the development and improvement of academic programs and classroom pedagogies on behalf of the College.To be considered for this position, you must be a highly dedicated professional who meets the following criteria:An education degree from an approved and recognised tertiary institutionPost-graduate qualifications in a curriculum area or educational leadership is desirableAn understanding of contemporary pedagogies that engage boys in their learningExperience in school information systems (SIS) would be an advantageBe accredited with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skillsProven organisational skills, including multi-tasking and meeting deadlinesStrong attention to detailAbility to demonstrate flexibility, whilst supporting multiple stakeholdersHigh level of expertise in computer applications, particularly Google platformsHigh ethical standards, confidentiality and integrityCommitment to the Edmund Rice values and ethos of the CollegeWillingness to support the Catholic ethos and learning culture of the CollegePossess a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)A commitment to the child safeguarding principlesFor further information about the role, please refer to the position description listed on www.edmundricecollege.nsw.edu.au/our-college/employment/The ProcessApplications (including CV and covering letter) to be submitted through www.edmundricecollege.nsw.edu.au by 6 November 2024 (please do not apply through SEEK).The appointment of a successful candidate is conditional and based on the successful completion of all pre-employment screening, including child-related employment and reference checks.
