We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide.
Due to some parts of this role needing to handle physical documents, this position requires someone to attend the Sydney office regularly.

What you'll be doing in this role
As Canva scales, change continues to be part of our DNA.
This role will give you a flavour of the type of things you'll be working on, but this will likely evolve.

Canva is looking for an Admin Assistant to be part of our highly motivated, tight-knit, and collaborative global Intellectual Property Legal team.
You will play a vital role in contributing to the fast, challenging, and rewarding work we do by providing strong administration support and ensuring we're set up to work efficiently and effectively.
We're looking for someone with administrative experience, an interest in IP, and a willingness to roll their sleeves up and get things done.
This role will suit someone passionate about developing a career in administration.

At the moment, this role is focused on:
Assisting the team with file management, coordinating electronic signatures, proofreading documents, and updating the team's internal resource pages.
Working alongside a small team of Legal Assistants and our IP Paralegal to triage Legal help desk queries.
Helping with the management of e-billing software, including liaising with external counsel on invoice requirements.
Scheduling invites with Zoom, booking meeting rooms and event spaces, creating agendas, taking notes and action items, and coordinating presentation materials.
Receiving, scanning, and notifying the team of mail as it comes in and arranging couriers as needed.
Handling travel arrangements and trip itineraries, organising team celebrations and offsites.
Providing additional ad hoc support for our patent team, including database management and coordination of our patent incentive program.
You're probably a match if:
You have proven Admin Assistant experience, ideally supporting an in-house legal team, with an interest or background in tech.
You are a career administrative assistant, with a strong interest in building on your already developed administrative skills.
A legal degree or a drive to pursue this career path is not necessary for this role.
You're proactive with a bias for action and getting things done, happy to roll up your sleeves with any task.
You have excellent attention to detail, are highly organised, and possess phenomenal verbal and written communication skills, with high emotional intelligence.
You're a quick learner who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
You are tech-savvy and have demonstrated experience with Canva, Jira, Slack, and G-Suite.
You love to problem-solve, can spot an inefficient process, and are always looking for ways to improve team workflows.
You're a natural collaborator who thrives on bringing people together and loves to be the glue to the team, bringing positivity and enthusiasm to all parts of the role.

When you join our Legal team, you'll work on matters that matter.
In this role, you'll learn from working as part of a close-knit, specialist IP Legal team, predominantly based in Sydney, who love sharing knowledge and improving our craft together.
You'll work with a collaborative and international Legal team, with team members based in Australia, Manila, Beijing, San Francisco, Austin, and London.
