Senior Fund Accountant

The Senior Fund Accountant at FNZ is a full-time, permanent role based in Sydney or Melbourne, reporting to the Head of Fund Accounting. This role is central to maintaining financial records and ensuring compliance for superannuation funds and managed investment schemes administered by FNZ. Key responsibilities include managing month-end reconciliations, handling accounts payable, overseeing expense and reserve management, preparing financial reports, and conducting tax reporting. Additionally, the role involves liaising with internal and external stakeholders to address operational matters, which is crucial for effective financial oversight and client satisfaction.Working within the Fund Services team at FNZ Australia, the Senior Fund Accountant is expected to contribute to accurate and timely APRA regulatory reporting, statutory financial reporting, and audit support.The responsibilities will include:Record keeping – reconciling and preparing the month-end close.Accounts payable – ensuring fees are deducted and paid on time.Expense and reserve management – reporting to trustees on reserves, budgets, and expenditures.Financial reporting – preparing reports and assisting with audits.APRA regulatory reporting – annual and quarterly D2A & SDT reports.Tax reporting – including activity statements, tax returns and true-ups.Stakeholder management – communications with internal and external clients on operational matters.Support junior staff, providing guidance and oversight as needed.What are we ideally looking for in a successful candidate?CA or CPA-qualified candidateMin 5 years of proven experience as a Senior Fund AccountantExperience in preparing APRA Quarterly and Annual Reporting FormsExperience in preparing Statutory Financial ReportsExperience managing, coaching or mentoring junior staff.Relevant Technical Experience (helpful but not essential)Knowledge of financial products and securitiesKnowledge of tax in superannuationExperience in superannuation wrap fundsExperience in managed investment schemesExposure to successor fund transfersSQL and database management skillsWhat is in it for you?Be part of a highly successful, rapidly growing, global business that is leading the delivery of financial services via cloud computing and partners with some of the world's largest companies.Remuneration and career advancement is based on individual contribution and business impact rather than tenure or seniority.We provide significant financial rewards for high performing individuals.Global career opportunities for our best employees at any of our offices in the UK, Canada, Czech Republic, Australia, New Zealand or China.If this role appeals to you, please apply with your cover letter and CV by the 16th of January 2025.*Please note we shortlist as we receive applications.
