The Role As a Project Cost Controller, you will be responsible for tracking, analysing, and reporting on project costs to ensure they align with budgets and organisational objectives.
You will collaborate closely with key stakeholders, driving cost efficiency and maintaining financial accuracy throughout the project lifecycle using Earned Value Management principles and tools to monitor progress and ensure alignment with budgetary goals.
Duties and Responsibilities Develop and maintain detailed project cost plans, budgets, and cashflow forecasts.Monitor actual project expenses and compare them against budgeted figures.Prepare and present cost reports to stakeholders, highlighting key metrics and risks.Support budget planning and funding requests for new projects.Identify cost variances, analyse their causes, and recommend corrective actions.Assist in preparing data and supporting documentation for Preliminary Progress Payment Certificates (PPPC).Implement and improve cost control measures and financial tracking systems.Identify and mitigate potential cost risks through proactive strategies.Required Qualifications & Skills Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, project management, engineering, or a related field.3+ years of experience in project cost control, financial analysis, or a similar role.
Industry experience in construction, engineering, or infrastructure is highly desirable.Skills and Competencies: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with expertise in tracking financial budgets, analysing data, and controlling costs effectively.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to engage with diverse teams.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Sound understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) and its application in tracking project progress and ensuring cost efficiency.Why Vertech Group?
