Our services span from initial planning and investment, through start-up and operations.The Project includes the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of 3 new bucket-wheel reclaimers including associated structural, mechanical, electrical and communications services. The Project also includes the design and construction of associated off-board scope including bulk earthworks, civil infrastructure, structural works and electrical upgrades to support the functionally safe operations of the new reclaimers.Job Summary:As Contracts Specialist, you will assist the Project Manager by administering prime contracts for complex projects. You will work with the project team to establish the contract baseline, management process, general terms, change orders, and the claims program. You will raise awareness of risks, identify revenue growth opportunities, and recommend actions to protect Bechtel's interest and improve project performance.This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.Major Responsibilities:With the project team, identify the contract baseline, including terms and conditions, specifications, drawings, estimate, proposal, schedule, and other documents incorporated in the contract.Develop and maintain the prime contract management processes, procedures, tools, and training as outlined in the Prime Contracts Management Manual and related business unit functional procedures.Establish tools and/or maintain records and systems required by Customer and/or partners in Joint Association arrangements.Develop suitable materials/systems to manage key issues, bespoke contract requirements, e.g., for incentive/Key Performance Indicator regimes, bonus/incentive, penalties.Support analysis of the prime contract general terms and conditions to highlight areas of potential risk such as ambiguities, omissions, and conflicts; assist the Project Manager in mitigating those risks.Establish a Project Prime Contract Change Management Procedure to provide a methodology to identify changes, quantify the additional time and compensation due Bechtel per the contract, define approval requirements and communicate changes to the Customer; prepare and negotiate change orders as directed.Other responsibilities as designated.Education and Experience Requirements:Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Law degree preferred.Collaborative approach to customer interactions.Bechtel is committed to offering you the benefits and resources to live a healthy life, including a market-aligned salary package and annual discretionary performance bonus scheme.
