We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, from ambulatory to inpatient and home and community-based services.Position Details:Fixed term appointment until December 2025Full time (76 hours per fortnight)Medical Scientist Grade 2 Year 1-4 (RY4-RY7)Alfred Health locationGreat staff benefitsThe DepartmentThe Medical Oncology Unit provides coordinated multidisciplinary management for adult patients with malignancies. An important component of this care are the Clinical Trial/Research activities we participate in, which enable us to offer forthcoming investigational treatments to our patients.The RoleResponsibilities include:Coordination and management of clinical studies including:The trial related care of patientsCollection, processing and transport of trial pathology samplesRelated clinical trial dataRegulatory managementEnsure all clinical trials are performed in accordance with the study protocol and in line with the regulatory, ethical and legal requirements outlined by the ICH-GCP, TGA, Note for Guidance on Good Clinical Practice (CPMP/ICH/135/95), the NHMRC National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research, and the applicable state/federal privacy laws and institutional policies.Contribute to strategies to improve performance aligned with international best practice standards and department's expectations, in conjunction with the team leader.Qualifications and Experience RequiredBachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Applied ScienceKnowledge of key concepts of Cancer BiologyBiomedical research laboratory experienceUnderstanding of clinical medical terminologyCurrent GCP certification and understanding of GCP principlesAbility to travel for investigator meetings as requiredStaff BenefitsGenerous salary packaging and novated leasing are available through MaxxiaAccess to health and wellbeing incentivesDiscounted health insuranceFor enquiries regarding this position, please contact Chris Brooks, Senior Research Manager - ****** close 11pm AEDT, Tuesday 19th November 2024.Alfred Health is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to attracting and retaining a diverse workforce that reflects the community we serve.
