The Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine offers a wide range of general and specialized anaesthesia services, including trauma, paediatric surgery, cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, vascular, and obstetrics.
Additional support is provided for the Cardiac Catheter Lab, Endoscopy Unit, and Medical Imaging Department, including Interventional Radiology, CT/MRI, and PET scan procedures.
We also offer an Acute Pain Service and Perioperative Medicine service.
As a leading teaching department, we are deeply involved in research, participating in multi-centre trials and promoting local research initiatives.
We maintain strong connections with the University of Tasmania's Faculty of Health Science and the Menzies Research Centre.
