Job DescriptionYour New Role We're looking for a Project Manager to help deliver key civic projects across Regional Victoria, with a focus on sporting facilities.
These projects will support local jobs and help to boost Regional Victoria's economy by utilising local supply chains throughout delivery and attracting more visitors to the regions.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will take charge of defining project scope, identifying, and managing technical and commercial challenges, and collaborating with team members to ensure smooth, successful delivery.
Please note This is an initial 18-month contract, with a view to extend or a permanent role.The primary project locations are Geelong or Morwell, and we encourage applications from those living in these areas.
Please note, attendance at our head office in Melbourne will also be required.Core Responsibilities: Prepare and actively manage project schedules, estimates of cost plans, project risks and project management plans.Develop consultant and design briefs and manage subsequent engagements, including design management, throughout the life cycle of the project.Provide policy and strategic advice to Government on the project, including writing high level project reports and briefs.Contribute to proactive project management to meet all time/cost/quality/scope milestones to deliver project outcomes.Manage tender processes in accordance with probity standards and monitor and manage contractor performance including contract administration.Desired Skills and ExperienceAbout You Tertiary qualified in construction management, engineering, building, or a project management related discipline, preferred.Demonstrated management expertise in complex, multi-disciplinary projects.Exposure to Commercial or Construction Law will be well regarded.Previous project management experience, with proven skills in delivering project outcomes within specific timelines.Experience managing several project elements simultaneously, particularly infrastructure projects of a social, and/or cultural nature.High level interpersonal and written communication, consultation, and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to make judgements about and articulate issues at senior levels within the public and private sectors.Undertaking research and evaluating proposals from a commercial perspective.Project commercial and program analysis experience, as well as cost management.Employee Benefits We drive strong collaboration and support our teams to work virtually and flexibly.Study supportOpportunity to participate in cross functional working groups that drive diversity and inclusion and sustainability initiatives.Novated leasingPurchase leavePaid parental leaveTechnology salary sacrificeHealth & Wellbeing initiatives such as EAP and mental health and wellbeing leaveAccess to group life & group salary continuance insuranceModern onsite facilitiesApplication Process Please apply via our careers page linked to this advertisement, applications will not be accepted via email.Please note: The preferred candidate will be required to complete a national police record check prior to an offer of employment being made.At Development Victoria, we work flexibly and value diversity, and we invite you to talk to us about any preferences or adjustments you may value or require to either our recruitment process or the role itself.
