Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north. Services are provided through our five main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. Mental Health Services are also provided at various locations including Epping and Broadmeadows.
About the Role:
This role requires a Medical Research Nurse to join Northern Health's research team. Responsibilities include the development, implementation, and conduct of research projects within the Division of Medicine, focusing on Infectious Disease, Neurology, Renal, Rheumatology, and General Medicine. The role involves collaboration with key stakeholders and may require providing ambulatory clinical care to medical patients in conjunction with research activities.
Responsibilities: Effectively developing, implementing, and managing clinical research trials, including recruitment, patient follow-up, reporting, and database upkeep.Assisting in completing ethics and governance applications for research projects.Delivering direct and indirect clinical trial-related care of patients and associated data collection for concurrent research studies.Participating in the development and review of standard operating protocols relevant to trials.Providing education and supervision to staff within Northern Health to ensure safe care delivery in complex and acute care settings.Working autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.To be successful in this role you will have: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency.Minimum five (5) years full-time equivalent post-registration experience.A Master's degree or relevant postgraduate education relevant to the specialty and/or research.Experience and good working knowledge of clinical trials and associated policies and processes.Proven ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a wider team.Good basic computer literacy, database upkeep, and EMR systems.Demonstrated alignment with Northern Health's values of Safe, Kind & Together.Next Steps:
