About Earth Sciences and Engineering Earth Sciences and Engineering specializes in:
Site planning Spatial information and digital terrain modeling Surface and subsurface investigations Rock mechanics Underground structures Geotechnical laboratory services Flood forecasting and water resource management Vacation Student Opportunity: Build the Extraordinary, Every Day The Hatch Vacation Student Program provides the opportunity to work on real projects and gain practical industry skills.
We will help you through the transition, bridging the gap between your education and career.
As part of the Earth Sciences and Engineering team, you will assist in providing:
Civil/Geotechnical/Hydrotechnical Engineering design expertise to Hatch's commodity-based business units (e.g.
mining and minerals processing, public infrastructure, and energy) and have the opportunity to rotate between Civil, Geotechnical, and Hydrotechnical.
Our capability spans through the whole project lifecycle, comprising:
Scoping Conceptual design Pre-feasibility and feasibility studies Basic and detailed engineering Construction Project management Our Professional Development Program As a Vacation Student with Hatch, you will:

Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to complete project deliverables for clients Develop mentoring relationships with experienced professionals Work towards individual career goals Work in a flexible framework and environment Attend networking events, opportunities, and activities Continuously learn and develop through a variety of challenging work experiences Work with one of Australia's Top Intern Employers You Bring to the Role You will be working towards a bachelor/master's degree in Structural/Civil/Geotechnical/Environmental Engineering, ideally in your third year (or later) of study, with a strong academic record.
Candidates will have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and will be collaborators with the ability to think laterally and innovatively to solve problems.
You will also have an interest in exploring a future with a global consulting company and are committed to creating positive change.
The 12-week program commences on: Monday, 18 Nov 2024
Please note, during this time Hatch will have its annual office closure from COB Friday, 20 December 2024 and will reopen Monday, 6 January 2025.
