Head of Department, HSIE/PDHPE (7-10), Required for 2025 Western Grammar School is a co-educational K-12 school that has been in operation since 2012.
The vision of the school is to support families in educating their children with future-focused skills, from an Islamic perspective.
We offer a broad co-curricular program and are committed to the highest levels of student wellbeing so that each child develops to their full potential.
In alignment with our vision to enhance the quality of education and strive for excellence, we are introducing a leadership role for the Head of Department (Grades 7-10).
This position will start in 2025, with the potential to expand to a grades 7-12 role in the future.
This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the future of quality education at WGS.
It also serves as a valuable stepping stone for aspiring leaders to launch their careers, gain leadership experience, and contribute meaningfully to the profession.
Position Overview: As Head of Department, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience of our students.
Working alongside an adaptable team and under the guidance of our visionary leadership team, you will lead by example, setting high standards and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
You will be given a proportionate amount of time off class for this leadership role and will also have a teaching load based upon the school's capacity to manage staff loads.
Key Responsibilities: Curriculum and Administrative Leadership: Develop and implement a forward-thinking curriculum that meets the needs of our diverse learners.Instructional Leadership: Support and mentor teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.Staff Development: Nurture professional growth through ongoing training and development initiatives.Student Support: Ensure a nurturing environment where every learner can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.Qualifications: Education: Master's degree in Education or a related field (required).Experience: Leadership experience in an educational setting, ideally as a Head of Department or in a similar role.Skills: Exceptional communication, organisational, administrative, and interpersonal skills.Application Process: To express your interest in this transformative role, please submit your resume and a covering letter outlining the following questions:
