We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Mechanical Fitter/Technician to join our small close-knit team in Port Hedland to forge a rewarding and secure career with a reputable company.You will be responsible for our Workshop Operations which includes specialised equipment service/repair activities, Mine Site Test/Tag/Calibration activities with our specialised mobile Van, the proactive planning and coordination of workshop activities with relevant Branch personnel, etc.
Ultimately your challenges will be to produce work of a high quality standard capable of satisfying the requirements of our extensive client base.
You will be based at our Port Hedland branch and on occasions will be required to work at Customer sites across the Pilbara to support our ongoing Asset Management Activities.
This role is a "Drive in Drive out" DIDO role, which will ideally suit a candidate residing permanently in Port Hedland.
Working Hours are normally based around a Monday to Friday 5 Day week, unless work commitments demand the occasional weekend work to be carried out consistent with Customer needs.
Requirements Service/Repair of specialised equipment used in a variety of applicationsManage the Workshop Service/Repair processes in a proactive, efficient, and Customer focused manner with Branch team members in order to meet operational and financial business objectivesConduct Calibrations on a wide range of Measurement Equipment used in IndustryMaintaining a safe, clean, and tidy WorkshopPlay a key role in the development and expansion of Workshop services onto Customer sites where appropriateManage the training and development of Apprentices where appropriateTypical attributes we seek in our Ideal Candidate: Minimum 2 years Industrial experience within mining or other Pilbara Industries (or similar)Ideally Residing in Port Hedland (rental assistance available)Australian Recognised Trade/Technical CertificateValid Driver's LicenceCurrent RTIO Site Inductions (desirable but not essential)Current Roy Hill Inductions (desirable but not essential)Current BHP Induction (desirable but not essential)Current FMG Induction (desirable but not essential)Forklift licence (desirable but not essential)Flexibility to work on weekends occasionally to meet operational requirementsMUST be able to pass Pre-Employment Medical and DASCapable of mentoring, coaching, and training Apprentice Fitters and/or TechniciansMinimum of 2 years of broad experience repairing portable, high pressure (700 Bar) hydraulic tools and associated specialised equipmentA proven ability to rebuild and test intricate components to high standardsA high level of attention to detail and the ability to multi-taskMust be able to interpret parts lists and service documentationConversant with the use of Computers and associated software products (e.g.
