Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO).
Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.
We are looking for talented technicians to help full-scale production of the Kuiper satellites.
The success of Kuiper depends on the quality, reliability, cost, manufacturability, throughput, and security of the products that you deliver.

Key job responsibilitiesChampion safety requirements in all designated zones and work locationsAssemble and test with emphasis to detail an assortment of avionic, electrical-mechanical assemblies, handle and install fiber-optics, and related hardwareEnsure lab equipment is maintained and calibratedSupports some preventative maintenance activities on test equipment and data acquisition systemsParticipate in process improvements, maintain floor stock inventoryYou will independently execute and prioritize work to meet company deliverablesExecute test procedures for component and system level testing maintenanceReceive shipments and coordinate deliveries with recipients (Using pallet jacks, kit carts, etc)Your work may include contributing to improving work instructions and safety proceduresAdditional RequirementsWilling to work all shifts (days, evenings, staggered shifts) overtime and weekends as needed.
Shift will vary, depending on program needsFlexible working/commuting in between site locationsStanding for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this positionAble to lift up to 25lbs unassistedCandidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines.
Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
The starting pay for this role in Washington State is up to $26.00/hour and employees are eligible for incremental raises based on tenure.

We are currently in research and development but moving towards production environment.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience1+ years relevant working with your hands such as kitchen or back of house, mechanics or general assembly.1 year + experience in fast paced team environment.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS1+ years of hands-on experience with precision torque, measurement and inspection devices (i.e., automated and manual torque wrenches, torque drivers, calipers, micrometers, profilometers, optical inspection devices, multi-meters), as well as standard hand toolsExperience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirementsAbility to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environmentPrior military service a plusAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets.
The base pay for this position ranges from $52,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $60,320/year in our highest geographic market.
Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Amazon is a total compensation company.
Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
