Eldercare is seeking dedicated a Dementia Support Assistant at Eldercare Seaford.

The Dementia Support Assistant provides individualized one-on-one support and engagement to residents living with dementia in Eldercare Memory Support Units.
This role will work closely with the site based leadership team with best practice and professional support provided by Clinical Nurse Consultant – Dementia, to provide high-quality care and support to residents.
Provide individualised care and support to residents living with dementia, including assistance with emotional support Engage residents with meaningful activities that are aligned with their background and interests, and which generate comfort, familiarity and positive emotion.
Create a safe and supportive environment for residents, promoting independence, dignity and optimal wellbeing Foster a calm and reassuring environment, responding empathetically to residents' emotional needs The following shifts are available on a permanent part time contract; Week 1 Friday 10:00 - 15:00 Sunday 15:00 - 20:00 Tuesday 10:00 - 15:00 Week 2 Wednesday 15:00 - 20:00 Thursday 15:00 - 20:00 Saturday 15:00 - 20:00 Monday 15:00 - 20:00 To be successful in this role, you will: Be a vibrant and enthusiastic person to join our team Possess a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or Aged Care – or equivalent Minimum 6 months experience in Aged Care Experienced in participating and arranging recreational or leisure pursuits Specific experience in working with Older People, an advantage if dementia specific.

To work for Eldercare, you are required to have a police clearance valid for working in aged care (unsupervised contact with vulnerable people) and the clearance needs to be less than 12 months since date of issue.
As per Eldercare's Employee Immunisation Policy, all Eldercare employees are required to: Be vaccinated against seasonal influenza by no later than 1 June each year Be vaccinated against COVID-19 as per current ATAGI guidelines Exemptions on a temporary or permanent basis can only be approved by Eldercare's Chief Executive.
