As an Operations Manager you may at times assist the State Manager with additional leadership responsibilities across the state, and you will have clear responsibilities under six key result areas – quality, compliance, occupancy, debt, rostering, and people development (6-point centre plan).
The Role: Direct oversight of area/s through visits twice a month to all centres within your area and regular completion of these centre visits using the 6-point centre plan.Hold Area Managers and Centre Managers accountable for actioning tasks and achieving goals outlined in the 6-point centre plan.Regularly review and analyse the area/s performance on the AEG Pulse dashboard to identify areas for improvement, outcomes, and overall performance across all key responsibility areas.Quickly apply effective strategies to turn around a centre in a downturn, including the effective utilisation of operations and centre support functions to improve the centre's viability.Manage delivery of a high standard of service to families and all stakeholders within the area.Regularly analyse AEG Pulse dashboard and monthly profit and loss statements to review financial results and implement strategies to achieve EBITDA targets for area.Utilise high-level department relationships with senior managers to recover outstanding invoices in consultation with direct supervisor.Approve payments, credit card transactions and timesheets for all centres in a timely and accurate manner.Work in collaboration with the Quality Advisors to ensure all centres within area meet or exceed the National Quality Standards and National Quality Framework as per the Quality Action Plan.Ensure occupancy initiatives are executed across area/s and evaluate their success.Lead and exceed the delivery of budget targets throughout the area/s.
Actively contribute to and manage the development and implementation of the budget for all areas of responsibility; negotiate, create, and manage budgets where it is required.Review, analyse and approve time and attendance records in a timely and accurate manner.Lead the area/s to achieve target Wages to Revenue (WTR) percentage each week.Consistently and professionally represent the AEG brand promise, mission, and values, including appropriate support and sharing of senior management directives to reporting line staff.Create a values-driven, safe employment environment that attracts, engages, and retains skilled employees.Benefits: Attractive salary packageFlexible working arrangement50% discount on childcare gap feesFitness and Lifestyle Group membershipsA professional culture and supportive work environmentCareer advancement opportunitiesAbout you A minimum of 5 years successful record of accomplishment as a field manager across a dispersed network in a service-related industry.Diploma in Business, Children's Services, or equivalent.Current Working with Children Check or equivalent, or the ability to obtain this.Current VIC Driver's Licence.Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.Commercial management experience in a service-related industry such as retail or hospitality.Multi-site childcare experience an advantage.Sound keyboard and computer literacy skills.Ability to oversee the planning and implementation of work programs, maintain relevant records and control budgets.Excellent time management and attention to detail skillsA 'can do' positive outlook with a strong team focus.Permanent Full-time position, Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week and based in Melbourne.
