Your ImpactAs a Software Engineering Lead, you will guide a team of software engineers in the design, development, and implementation of high-quality software solutions, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to align technical strategies with business objectives.
Your role involves managing and mentoring team members, defining architectural frameworks, and ensuring project deliverables meet the highest standards of excellence.
The OpportunityEngineering Leads at Encompass Technologies are emerging leaders who balance hands-on development with guiding a small team.
They focus on:
Providing hands-on technical leadership and mentoring for a small team of developersContributing to the software directly at a Senior Engineer levelEnsuring timely delivery of team projects and maintaining high code quality standardsInfluencing technical decisions within the team and contributing to department-wide discussionsResults Areas for this role include:
Mentor and guide a small team through regular 1:1s and performance reviews.Address skill gaps with targeted training and pair programming.Foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and a supportive team environment.Technical Strategy & Innovation:Lead architectural discussions and key technical decisions.Research and implement technologies and best practices to boost productivity and code quality.Collaborate with other teams to align technical strategies and prototype solutions for challenges.Project Delivery & Quality Assurance:Oversee project progress, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to coding standards.Conduct code reviews, implement testing processes, and lead sprint planning.Identify and address risks impacting timelines or quality.Organisational Impact & Influence:Represent the team in discussions, aligning goals with organizational priorities.Collaborate across teams to address technical challenges and improve processes.Mentor junior developers and contribute to resource planning and project prioritization.What you would bring to EncompassQualifications and experience essential for success in this role include:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent work experienceExperience leading a development team (preferred)LocationWe are a hybrid organization and are open to applicants for both hybrid and fully remote roles.
