Please visit the ADF Careers Eligibility Page for more details.Your role:As an Army Driver in the Australian Defence Force, you'll play a pivotal role in the operation and management of sophisticated military vehicles in all conditions, over all kinds of terrain.
You'll be responsible for transporting cargo, personnel and dangerous goods to support training and operations in Australia and overseas.
Your Military duties include, but aren't limited to: Driving specialist vehicles including G Wagons, Hawkei PMV-L and heavy utility trucks.Driving loaded and unloaded vehicles in varied conditions and on all-terrainDelivering personnel, stores, equipment and Combat Service Support - utilising road, rail, sea and air transportationCamouflaging a vehicleOperating material handling equipment, such as forklifts, winches and cranesSupervising and assisting with loading and unloading of vehiclesConducting non-technical inspectionsRecovering damaged vehicles using vehicle recovery equipmentOperating radio/communications equipment fitted to a vehicleTransporting dangerous goodsYou will enjoy benefits including, but not limited to: Free medical and dental, including access to allied health, rehabilitation, and mental health specialists Competitive salary package with incremental salary increases as you gain experience Generous Superannuation of 16.4% - a huge 5.4% over the Australian standardA subsidised home loan or rent allowanceAllowances and bonuses which recognise specialist skills and employment typesThe ability to package your salaryJob securityCareer progression and developmentGood work/life balanceTravel opportunitiesExcellent social and fitness facilitiesPaid trainingLocation:Following your initial military training, you could be posted to one of the many Army bases and units across Australia.
Drivers are employed across most Army locations primarily QLD, NSW, SA and the NT.Salary: Upon commencing training, your starting salary will be approximately $56,385 per annum plus 16.4% superannuation and your pay will increase as you progress through training.On completion of your initial military training and initial employment training, you'll enjoy a package starting from $76,700 per annum.As part of your training for this Driver role, you'll earn qualifications for the operation of certain vehicles.Eligibility: For this role, you must:Be at least 17 years of age when you enter the ADFHold at least a current learners license and have a current provisional/probationary driver's licence at the time of enlistmentHave completed an Australian Year 10 education (or equivalent) with passes in English and MathematicsBe an Australian citizen.
