Involved in aspects of Quality & Productivity.09th October, 2024Coal Technician (Casual) – Gunnedah NSWAbout the PositionAn opportunity exists for a Casual Coal Technician to work at our local laboratory and On-site Mine laboratories based in the Gunnedah area NSW.

Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will be involved in aspects of Quality, Turnaround Time, Client Service and Productivity.Key Responsibilities:Available for shift coverage (Planned and Unplanned)Collection of a range of production and train samplesPerforming a range of preparation and analytical tests including Ash, Moisture and Total SulphurEnsuring that all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner and to agreed standard operating instructionsChecking and validating all results to ensure that they are within repeatability tolerancesOptimising turnaround time for samples whilst ensuring the highest quality of results is achieved and maintainedEnsuring Quality Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures are followedEnsuring a high standard of housekeeping and presentation of all equipment and work areas12-hour shift work will be requiredSkills/Qualifications:Reliable and TrustworthyA strong focus on safety, quality and teamworkAttention to detailGood Organisation and Communication SkillsPrevious industry experience would be an advantageValid Drivers' LicenseTraining will be provided to the successful candidate.
Shift coverage and working a reasonable amount of overtime may be mandatory for this role.This position requires organisational skills, good time management and attention to detail.
Your ability to learn on the job, remain motivated whilst working independently without constant supervision in a high volume and dynamic environment will ensure your success.
The successful applicant must be proactive, highly motivated and be able to demonstrate that they work well in a multi-skilled environment with a commitment to safe work practices and continuous improvement in the workplace.
Training will be provided to the successful candidate.
