A unique opportunity to join the newly formed Engineering team within RTIO Sustaining Capital division.Perth based full time role with irregular site travel.Responsible for the Engineering management of complex projects across all phases - Studies, Execution through to Close-out.Provide Technical leadership to a portfolio of projects.Coach Project Engineers on the fundamentals of discipline engineering.About The RoleWe are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Specialist Project Engineer to join the Sustaining Capital Engineering Management Team.Sustaining Capital delivers a diverse portfolio of projects for Rio Tinto Iron Ore to maintain the supply chain capacity.
The Projects undertaken by Sustaining Capital include construction of haul roads, workshops, camps, fixed plant assets, rail and marine infrastructure.Reporting to the Principal Project Engineering, you will:Prepare Scope of works for Engineering to assist the Study Lead.Ensure Engineering compliance of Dry Processing Assets to applicable RTIO and Australian Standards.Demonstrated expertise in Engineering of Dry Processing Assets in Iron Ore mining is advantageous.Participate in design reviews and critically review Engineering deliverables.Ensure cost and schedule compliance of Engineering activities within the project.Coordinate Technical Queries with consultants (providing technical and site experience/input) and/or engineering subject matter experts.Supporting the Project Lead, review progress payment claims, review project schedule compliance, provide monthly progress reports to internal stakeholders, track project budget, prepare and review accommodation and monthly cashflow forecasts.Demonstrate safety leadership in the field, engaging in Critical Risk Management ensuring the highest HSEQ standards are being met at all times.Collaborate with project support functions (including procurement, cost analysis, estimators, planners, shutdown schedulers, travel, accommodation, and mobilisation teams).Support broader portfolio of projects, depending on demand and priority.Coach Project Engineers on the fundamentals of discipline engineering.About YouTo be successful in the role, you will have:Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years experience in Project Engineering.Demonstrated experience in design or project engineering of Fixed Plant Dry Processing Assets – Conveyors, Screens, Crushers, Rockbreakers, Balanced Machines, etc.The ability to work collaboratively across a diverse range of stakeholders and operational teams.Specialist level knowledge of Fixed Plant related Australian Standards.A demonstrated commitment to safety.A current and valid manual 'C Class' driver's license.What we offerBe recognised for your contribution, your thinking and your hard work, and go home knowing you've helped the world progress.A work environment where safety is always the number one priority.A permanent position working directly for Rio Tinto.Full relocation provided to Western Australia from elsewhere in Australia.A competitive base salary reflective of your skills and experience with annual incentive bonus.Comprehensive medical benefits including subsidised private health insurance for employees and immediate family.Attractive share ownership plan.Company provided insurance cover.Extensive salary sacrifice & salary packaging options.Career development & education assistance to further your technical or leadership ambitions.Ongoing access to family-friendly health and medical wellbeing support.Leave for all of life's reasons (vacation/annual, paid parental, sick leave, cultural leave).Work on Country with a residential role which offers company housing and financial support with living expenses including rent and utilities (power and water).To better suit different family needs, our paid parental leave approach gives all parents the option to take 18 weeks of paid leave after a new child arrives – at a time that suits them.Exclusive employee discounts including hotel stays, banking, accommodation, cars, retail and more.We are committed to elevating Indigenous voices and increasing cultural knowledge in our business.
