Responsibilities: Provide specialist palliative care services within the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service (WBHHS) to patients as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure the provision of appropriate patient care.Provide professional leadership within a specialist medical area and offer training, education, and supervision to medical students, junior medical staff, and other health care providers.Opportunities: The successful candidate may have the opportunity to establish private practice outside of their WBHHS appointment with local private hospitals.
The successful candidate may receive assistance and concessions with:
Use of the local private hospital's sessional rooms to allow establishment of practice and referral pathways.Assistance with credentialing and administrative support to commence private practice.Introduction to local GPs, physicians, and surgeons to facilitate referral pathways.Location: The Fraser Coast, known for its diverse, natural landscapes, laid-back lifestyle, and mild climate, is located just a quick 45-minute flight north of Brisbane.
This destination is the stepping-off point to the World Heritage-listed Fraser Island, known for incredible whale watching encounters and some of the safest family-friendly beaches in Queensland.
Stroll along the Hervey Bay esplanade for alfresco cafes, shops, picnic areas, playgrounds, and a vibrant marina, or soak up the history and culture in the provincial city of Maryborough.
This location is known as the whale watching capital of the world, a well-known tourist destination with affordable real estate and excellent schools.
Requirements: Appropriate specialist qualifications (FANZCA or equivalent).More than 4 years of relevant work experience required for this role.Flexible hours available.Work visa can be provided for this role.Expected salary: $380,000 - $480,000 per year.
