Select how often (in days) to receive an alert:High performing, diverse, inclusive, and supportive organisationProudly making a difference with the transition to renewable energyAccess to corporate discounts, Fitness Passport & flexible workingPosition available in TamworthThe OpportunityThis is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to be part of an organisation dedicated to nation-building renewable energy projects that will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.In your new role as Transmission Lines Technician (Linesman / Linesperson), you will develop, maintain and provide practical and technical expertise in transmission line work including inspection, maintenance, repairs and construction of transmission line assets within Transgrid's transmission network and to deliver all elements of these tasks as required to meet customer expectations. You will ensure all work is carried out in alignment with Transgrid's policies and procedures.You will at times perform the duties of a Crew Leader for work and be the single point of contact between the appropriate Field Coordinator/Site Manager and the team and will provide them with relevant and appropriate information.You will also develop the leadership capabilities to safely and effectively carry out work and will assist in the development and mentoring of apprentices and junior Transmission Lines Technicians and provide performance feedback to assist in development and performance management.About youCertificate III in ESI - Power Systems – Transmission and or Distribution OverheadTransmission and or Distribution line trade experienceA current Australian Driver's LicenseGood oral and written presentation skillsWell-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to work both autonomously and in a team environmentPrepared to work away from their nominated headquarters for periods of timeAbility to interpret schematicsAllocation to a standby roster to provide afterhours standby services and respond to system incidentsWilling to engage in external work opportunities on non-Transgrid assets and locationsKnowledge and understanding of all relevant legislation, regulations, Transgrid policies, rules and proceduresUnderstanding of the inspection, maintenance and construction requirements associated with Transgrid's transmission line infrastructureRecognition & RewardIn return for your hard work, we have numerous benefits and initiatives to support you personally and professionally including but not limited to private health insurance discount, motor vehicle lease plan, career development support, study assistance program and workplace flexibility.Continue to make it happen for your career, and for the millions of Australians who rely on our services every day.Who we areAt Transgrid, our work improves the lives of millions – from lighting up sports fields, schools, and homes, to powering the wheels of commerce and everything else in between.
