OOBIKOO Games is an early stage start-up based in Ballarat, Victoria seeking a front end web developer to build and maintain our games portal.
We are building and publishing video games that are connected to the blockchain, and looking for our first hire in the web/front-end space.
As the first hire you will be able to influence technology selection although our preference is for next.js hosted on Vercel.

We are looking for a mid to senior level developer with at least 5 years experience.
As the venture is an early stage flexibility, grit, and determination will be important to success.
You will need to be able to move forward in the face of uncertainty and be open to changing direction if the market or other factors suggest we should.

Ideally you will be able to come in to our Ballarat office once or twice per week.
Part time work (minimum 3 days per week) is an option for the right candidate.
Equity will be available.

The Role Turn web designs into functional websites and web applications.
Work with games developer to integrate their WebGL builds into the web portal.
Integrate with Layer-1 and Layer-2 blockchain such as ETH, SOL, zkEVM, etc.
Able to work from requirements but also make smart decisions where functionality isn't well defined.
Willingness to roll-up-sleeves and work on whatever technology is required to get projects delivered.
Our Ideal Candidate Tech
Experience with web frameworks such as next.js or react (Must Have).
Experience with cloud services such as Vercel or AWS (Must Have).
Experience creating dAPPs using frameworks like web3.js, ether.js etc.
(Ideal but not required).
Experience working with blockchain contracts and Solidity (Ideal but not required).
Experience integrating with or working with the Unity game engine (Ideal but not required).
General
An eye for good UI and UX design.
High intelligence with the ability and desire to learn new things quickly.
Ability to disagree and commit.
Communicative and collaborative.
Willing to share opinions and take and provide feedback.
