About the role: In the position of Engineering Manager - Digital, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of engineers that build and run Cbus' member-facing digital channels, including public websites, member portals, mobile apps, and Martech platforms.
You will:
Lead the definition and implementation of engineering best practices across the team and broader Technology function, while being a champion for modern engineering practices. Plan, develop and execute short- and long-term plans to help meet the needs of Cbus members, collaborating within technology and the wider business. Review and oversee tooling across the Digital technology stack to ensure relevance and alignment with the strategic target state. Identify and co-ordinate the implementation of appropriate development methodologies (TDD/BDD/Continuous integration and refactoring practices), documentation, and tools. To be successful, ideally you will: Have 10+ years of relevant industry experience or demonstrated capability in similar roles, with 4+ years of leadership experience leading engineers within the digital landscape.
You will have:
Experience in designing and implementing customer/member-facing web and mobile apps, with experience in RESTful APIs and microservices patterns. A good understanding of test-driven development, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and building high-quality solutions. As a leader, you will be passionate about getting the most from your team, building a culture of continuous improvement.
You will love collaborating with your peers and have a can-do attitude to help Cbus deliver on its strategy.

Below is an overview of our Tech stack.
Our current Technology Stack: General: All systems managed by the team are either hosted in AWS or via SaaS.
We are consolidating on an Azure-based toolchain for our source control and CI/CD orchestration.
Currently, our website and portals are based on Adobe Experience Manager, which means we use J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring, Hibernate, and other similar technologies.
We are looking to move more towards a JS-based stack, using or in conjunction with more lightweight web technologies.
Frontend Web Development: We use React, Adobe Experience Manager, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS.
We also have iOS and Android apps which use a combination of native screens and web views.
Our Martech stack is primarily based around the Adobe suite - this is an area we want to grow our capability, so any Martech experience is highly desirable.
API Development: We use MuleSoft as our integration and API platform with microservices running in AWS EKS.
