About the role Reporting to the Superintendent Heritage Fieldwork, we are looking for a Heritage Liaison Advisor to facilitate and ensure the safe conduct of Rio Tinto Iron Ore's cultural heritage survey program.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
Contractor management for Rio Tinto's heritage team survey program.Developing and maintaining favourable relationships with internal and external stakeholders through strong engagement and communication.Delivering in-field survey works.Preparing, managing and implementing initial response plans and journey management plans.Supervising heritage field survey teams (contractors & traditional owners) in line with RT safety systems and processes enabling delivery against the infield survey schedule.Maintaining cultural heritage fieldwork equipment, assets, and fleet.Supporting social surrounds, archaeological, ethnographic, botanical, and other environmental survey works with Traditional Owner group involvement.Coaching survey participants according to Rio Tinto HSEC and CRM procedures.Undertaking critical risk management as a team leader.About you To be successfully considered for this role, you will have: Experience working in a leadership role with good field safety knowledge and a passion for working with Traditional Owners.Capability to travel (up to 10 days at a time), work in the field, in the heat and undertake physically demanding tasks.Experience bringing stakeholders together to deliver on projects with excellent engagement and influencing skills.It will also be beneficial if you have: Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Senior First Aid Certificate, 4WD accreditation and GIS / Navigation skills.What we offer Be recognised for your contribution, your thinking, and your hard work.A work environment where safety is always the number one priority.A permanent position working directly for Rio Tinto.Full relocation provided to Western Australia from elsewhere in Australia.A competitive base salary reflective of your skills and experience with annual incentive bonus.Comprehensive medical benefits including subsidised private health insurance for employees and immediate family.Attractive share ownership plan.Company provided insurance cover.Extensive salary sacrifice & salary packaging options.Career development & education assistance to further your technical or leadership ambitions.Ongoing access to family-friendly health and medical wellbeing support.Leave for all of life's reasons (vacation / annual, paid parental, sick leave, cultural leave).Paid parental leave of 18 weeks after a new child arrives.Exclusive employee discounts including hotel stays, banking, accommodation, cars, retail and more.Where you'll be working These roles will be based either residentially in Dampier or FIFO from Perth, both on 8 days on, 6 days off.
