We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Software Engineer to join us on a full-time permanent basis, working from our East Melbourne office with flexible work-from-home options and travel opportunities.
As a member of the engineering team, you will participate in the full engineering life cycle, including developing, optimizing, and deploying new software solutions and infrastructure for the existing platform.
This role will work across all states and liaise with cardiologists, patients, and other teams to derive clinical and business project ideas and facilitate timely project completion.
What you'll do: Participate in the entire software development life cycle, including writing clean code, conducting code reviews, writing documentation, unit/integration tests, manual testing, and identifying issues and resolutions.Liaise with the Technology Lead to implement the overall technical architecture and technology standards, policies, and patterns.Ensure delivery against timelines and budget.Work with vendors/SI partners and other solution providers to build and maintain the product.Participate within a cross-functional Product team to develop and deploy new features and applications.Identify, assess, track, and mitigate technical issues, risks, and bottlenecks.Adhere to modern software development best practices.Support the application engineering capabilities of the team, as well as project management tasks and Agile rituals.Who you are: You have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.1+ years of experience in developing and deploying production-grade applications in public or hybrid cloud environments.Experience with client-side technologies such as Typescript, React, HTML, and CSS.Experience with server-side technologies such as Node.js, Python, or Java Spring Boot.Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices and tools.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Experience working on public cloud environments (AWS or Azure) and understanding of security, failover, high availability, and scalability.Experience with container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.Experience in a fast-paced corporate venture or start-up.Prior experience in healthcare is preferred.What's in it for you: A competitive base salary plus superannuation.Purchase additional annual leave as part of our annual leave scheme.Range of benefits such as 12 weeks paid parental leave, access to retail and fitness discounts, and a world-class well-being program.Work with a connected, collaborative team.The opportunity to work for one of the most influential healthcare providers pioneering innovation in treatments for heart & sleep disease.If you're interested in this role, we encourage you to apply even if your past experiences don't perfectly align with the skills we've listed.
