Base Salary: $108,330 to $113,834 p.a.
WHO ARE WE? Established in 1991, Danila Dilba Health Service (DDHS) is an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation committed to providing culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care services and community development within the Biluru (Aboriginal) community of the Yilli Rreung (Greater Darwin) Region in the Northern Territory.
ABOUT THE ROLE The Podiatrist provides services to clients eligible under the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP).
The role is underpinned by the CHSP wellness approach, working with clients to maximise functional independence and ability to participate and remain living in the community.
The Podiatrist works in a multi-disciplinary team to provide high quality, culturally safe services that meet the needs of Danila Dilba clients, with a focus on chronic diseases.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Provide contemporary and culturally appropriate podiatry services for CHSP eligible clients including assessment, treatment, planning, and evaluation.Maintain quality client medical records.Work collaboratively with the Allied Health team to provide holistic allied health services that meet the needs of DDHS clients.Manage caseload and client bookings to ensure timely, coordinated service delivery.Contribute to reporting for DDHS and funding bodies, taking responsibility for accurate content and reporting deadlines.SELECTION CRITERIA Essential Understanding of and commitment to Aboriginal community control and self-determination.Tertiary qualification in Podiatry with current AHPRA registration.Demonstrated knowledge and experience in managing a broad range of acute and chronic foot conditions.Proven ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.Demonstrated understanding of the primary health care context, principles of chronic disease prevention and management, and goal-directed care planning.Understanding of the issues and barriers that affect the wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.Well-developed interpersonal skills with a strong client focus and the ability to establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with other health professionals and agencies.Demonstrated competence in e-health record systems and office software applications.High level written and oral communication skills.Desirable Experience working in the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health sector.Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team.IN RETURN WE OFFER 6 weeks annual leave.5 days paid leave during end-of-year shut down (additional to annual leave).Salary packaging up to $15,990 per annum, plus additional packaging options.Career development and training opportunities.For further information please contact - Philippa Cotter | Team Leader - Allied Health | (08) 8942 5***
