Senior Approvals Advisor (Part-time or Full-time)Focus Minerals (FML) is an Australian gold producer with tenure in Coolgardie and Laverton, two exciting gold regions based in Western Australia.
FML is the largest landholder in the Coolgardie Goldfield region, with over 450sqm of tenements near its 1.2mtpa Three Mil Hill Processing Facility, with an extensive pipeline of projects and significant regional exploration potential.
Resumption of open pit operations commenced in 2023, and FML has now commenced the planning and execution phase of bringing its Bonnie Vale underground operation online.
The Role The Senior Approvals Advisor supports Focus Minerals and the environment team with all environment approval applications for our operations in Coolgardie and Laverton.
Working closely with the Environment Manager, you will provide technical support and advice to operational and exploration teams on environmental requirements and ultimately environment approvals.
This is a full-time or part-time position working out of our corporate offices in Perth, with site visits as required by the business.
Duties include: Provide assistance to operational and site team members on environment approvals, environmental requirements and technical recommendations.Identify site approval requirements and work with the Environment Manager to ensure approvals are obtained.Ensure the timely submission of all environmental and planning approvals, for validity and compliance to prevent breach of any regulatory requirements.Develop and coordinate the baseline data to support applications for approvals.Assist with management of external consultants.Assist with negotiation and communication with regulatory bodies during the approvals process.Ensure Mine Closure Plans are accurate and up to date, leading the revision process.Assist with the management of the Environmental Risk Register based on conditions of approval and closure plans.About You To be successful in this role you will have the following:
Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Management or equivalent.Manual Drivers Licence.Minimum of 5 years' experience in a mining and exploration environment.Proven experience with approval software, specifically ArcGIS.Demonstrated experience with environmental approvals under WA State Regulatory and Commonwealth Systems.Demonstrated awareness and knowledge of relevant Australian Environmental Legal requirements, both State and Federal.Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing and consistently demonstrate strong interpersonal skills along with the ability to influence and/or persuade others.Focus Minerals is an ASX listed company in an exciting period of expansion and production.
