Y Schools Queensland - Bundaberg Campusare seeking a passionate VET Coordinator on a Permanent Part-Time basis based in Bundaberg.
About the roleThe role of VET Coordinator is focused on supporting the VET Lead with the facilitation of vocational and education training to vulnerable young people.
This will be achieved through maintaining the administrative requirements of VET programs, overseeing delivery of programs by external providers, facilitating VET classes and working with students - both individually and in classes – to encourage their VET participation and progress.
What will my time look like?Facilitate job pathway activities and programs to studentsSupport the delivery of vocational and wellbeing programs to studentsBuild and maintain impactful relationships with students so that their strengths, passions, interests and wellbeing needs can be supported appropriately through the programSupport RTO trainers in the delivery of academic and wellbeing programsAssist students to interpret information that informs career development and job creationEnsure resource material utilised for career development education is current and accurateAm I a good match?Do you hold a Certificate IV in Career Development or similar qualification; or significant demonstrated experience in Youth Work (plus working toward the completion of the above certificate or similar)Hold a Positive Notice Blue Card, or be willing to obtainCurrent First Aid and CPR certificate, or willingness to obtain themDemonstrated experience in working with young people who are at riskDemonstrated ability to provide individualized support and action plans for young people that enable them to realise opportunities and grow in an academic and vocational capacityUp-to-date knowledge of the current labour market, employability skills and acquisition strategies, coupled with the ability to effectively communicate these to young peopleWhat's in it for you?As the VET Coordinator you will work closely with the VET Lead to ensure the delivery of high-quality vocational education and training opportunities to our students.
