About your opportunity
Fixed Term Temporary full-time, 4 years with the completion of apprenticeship.
The Building, Engineering and Maintenance Services (BEMS) Department is responsible to support the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (HHS) facilitation of safe, effective and sustainable healthcare services through the best practice delivery of:
Asset and critical infrastructure management functions and capability Asset maintenance functions and capability Minor works/project development and delivery Generous remuneration package value up to $75,346 p.a.
comprising:
Salary range of $40,882 to $66,037 p.a.
(HBEA1 - HBEA4) Annual leave with 17.5% loading 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.
Attractive salary sacrificing options On-call and shift allowances (if applicable) Opportunity to enter a salary sacrifice arrangement.

Ability to undertake manual work and understand technical information.
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, prioritise allocated work, meet deadlines.
Possession of both written and oral communication skills and an ability to interact with all levels of staff.
Minimum Year 10 - sound pass in Maths and English or completion of a Pre-vocation Training Course desirable.
Ability to actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety, and ethical behaviour.
Skills and experience:
Aged Care Pre-Employment Screening: Applicants are advised this position works in an identified Aged Care Facility as per the Aged Care Act 1997 and therefore requires employees and volunteers to have a current National Police Certificate.
Queensland Health will facilitate applicants obtaining the above National Police Certificate.
The following knowledge, skills and experience will be highly regarded: Work experience in any of the following Trades areas - Fitting, Welding/Fabrication, Automotive Trades.
This position is located at the Townsville Hospital and may be required to travel throughout the Townsville HHS catchment area.
The possession of a licence to operate a class C motor vehicle would be considered desirable but is not mandatory.
This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
Probation period may apply.
Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
