About the role: As a result of continued growth, we are currently seeking to expand our team of Mechanical Fitters at our Wilpinjong mine.
Located 58 kilometres northeast of Mudgee, the mine produces high quality thermal coal for both the export and domestic markets.
Mining is undertaken using a dozer, truck and excavator fleet which includes CAT 789, 793, 785 and Terex MT400 trucks, CAT 16M & 14M graders, CATD10 and D11 dozers and Liebherr 9350, 9400 and CAT 6060 excavators.
Across 4 panel, lifestyle roster crews, each under the guidance of engaged and highly experienced leading hands and supervisors (regularly promoted from within), who ensure our fitters have the necessary resources, tools, and support to carry out their work effectively.
Our team of fitters complete planned and unplanned maintenance of Peabody mining equipment, and are generally split into workshop or field-based maintenance sections.
Duties will include: Perform repairs, maintenance, and inspections on mobile machinery to ensure optimal working condition;Prioritise and undertake specified and/or general work to the required standard and within timeframes;Work with the planning and scheduling teams to assist us in increasing our lofty reliability and availability targets;Maintain a safe, clean and healthy work environment;Using libraries such as SIS;Participate in and complete shift change, site meetings, communications or reporting requirements to the required standard;Actively engage in the Continuous Improvement Program;Compliance with site Safety and Health Management system requirements (for example risk management, SOPs, permits, work instructions etc.
).The lifestyle: This position is offered on a family-friendly rotating panel roster with a mix of days and nights, which is suited to a residential lifestyle in nearby Mudgee district.
