Metroll Cairns branch of Metroll Queensland Pty Ltd is part of a national group of companies engaged in the manufacture, distribution, and selling of metal roofing products, with operations in Queensland and interstate.
Metroll is the largest independent manufacturer of steel building materials in Australia.

Due to an internal relocation, we are currently recruiting for an experienced Management Accountant preferably with a manufacturing background.
The role will be responsible for the full range of accounting functions, as well as support the manager in maximizing the profitability of the long-established Metroll Cairns.
The role includes responsibility for the supervision of accounts receivable and accounts payable members of staff.

While this role is based in Cairns, it will report both to the local branch managers and to head office.

Key responsibilities will include:
Maintenance of general ledger with associated Balance Sheet reconciliations Accurate and timely completion of monthly sales report, financial reporting Knowledge of relevant accounting standards including AASB 16 - Leases End of month stock take and variance analysis Year end audit / Tax schedule preparation / Statutory reporting preparation Maintain record of fixed assets and update depreciation schedules Timely preparation and lodgement of BAS and other statutory lodgements Financial budgeting and forecasts Cashflow management Maintenance and development of Internal controls Assist in analysing cost of projects / products when requested Preparation of weekly payroll Any other duties as requested Required Experience & Qualifications:
Tertiary qualification in accounting Minimum 3 years working in a similar role Ability to work independently A keen eye for detail will be essential for the role, as each facet of the business requires tight control to ensure that accurate and timely management information is available on a monthly basis.
Manufacturing experience is highly regarded.
