We are seeking a dedicated and passionate TAS Coordinator to join our team in term 1, 2025.
This is a full-time position commencing on Monday, 13th January 2025.
Generous remuneration above the published 2021 MEA rates.
The successful applicant will receive a coordinator 2 allowance, as outlined in the Independent Schools NSW Teachers (Hybrid Model) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2021 for the co-ordination of the TAS programme of work.
Key Selection CriteriaThe successful applicant must be able to provide evidence to support the following criteria:
The ability and qualifications to teach and lead the TAS facultyProvide academic and pastoral care leadership to ensure that all students excelAssess the teaching and learning programs of the TAS facultyIntegrate technology into all key learning areasManage items on the curriculum timelineManage the academic requirements of the National Curriculum to assist faculty teachers to discern the outcomes for student understanding and the direction needed for student inquiry into those outcomesEnsure all faculty teachers scrutinise the outcomes of the National Curriculum as a basis for identifying the most effective learning strategies needed to provide evidence of students' understanding and their ability to apply the learning identified by the National CurriculumAssist teachers to identify learning tasks and to select and develop relevant rubrics.
Identify trends in ICT software, curriculum, teaching strategies and new resources.
Responsible for WHS and Curriculum compliance of the TAS facultyCreate and implement engaging, rigorous planned learning experiences catering to the diverse needs of studentsEvidence of leadership of educational innovation and development of curriculum and assessmentA track record of success in building and leading effective teams within faculty/stage departments.
Demonstrated critical analysis and problem-solving skills, experience and commitment to collaborative leadership within a team environmentExcellent knowledge and understanding of the integration of technology in the delivery of learningDemonstrated good team leadership skills: including approachability; listening skills; conflict resolution; exercising sound judgement; and showing initiativeStrong organisational and time management skills with an ability to prioritise tasks, meet prescribed deadlines and concurrently manage a number of competing tasksSound knowledge and understanding of WHS policies and procedures related to coordinating a TAS department.Demonstrated excellent classroom management skills focused on student well-beingExcellent communication skills (written and oral)QualificationsThe successful applicant would be a teacher with teaching experience and qualifications suitable for such a leadership role.
It is a diverse role involving supervision of teachers of TAS in a range of TAS subjects such as Textiles and Design, Food Technology, Design and Technology, Engineering Studies, VET courses, Multi-media, Industrial Technology, integrating STEM and Mandatory Technology, Visual Arts, Visual Design and Music.
