The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the hardware and software systems that make up cloud-based computing environments.
This role ensures that cloud-based systems are efficient, secure, and scalable.
What you'll be doing: Design and implement scalable, highly available, and secure cloud solutions using Azure Cloud platformsDevelop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormationImplement and manage containerized applicationsCreate and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software deployment processesOptimize cloud resource utilization and implement cost-saving strategiesCollaborate with development teams to ensure smooth integration of applications with cloud infrastructureMonitor cloud systems and implement logging solutions to ensure optimal performance and securityTroubleshoot and resolve cloud-related issues in a timely mannerStay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and best practicesThe skills and experience you'll bring to the role: Proven experience in cloud engineering or a related roleStrong proficiency in at least one major cloud platformExperience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormationSolid understanding of containerization technologies, including Docker and KubernetesProficiency in scripting languages such as Python and BashExperience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelinesIn-depth knowledge of network security and protocolsFamiliarity with monitoring and logging tools for cloud environmentsStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailExcellent communication and teamwork abilitiesCloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect are highly desirableExperience with DevOps practices and methodologiesKnowledge of cloud architecture design patterns and best practicesUnderstanding of cost optimization strategies for cloud environmentsWhy Hume City Council?
