About you
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to lead our commercial and community initiatives, drive business development, and ensure the highest standards of visitor engagement and community connection.
As the Director of Commercial and Community Engagement, you will oversee all aspects of our commercial activities, community programs, and visitor engagement strategies.
This includes managing marketing and communications, revenue-generating activities, developing strategic partnerships, and leading a team of skilled professionals.
You will play a crucial role in enhancing the Zoo's financial sustainability, community connection, and visitor satisfaction.
Job Description
Strategic Leadership: Contribute to corporate management and strategic planning and encourage active contributions on strategic issues from team members.
Commercial and Business Development: Lead the development, delivery, and performance of marketing, communications and commercial activities.
Oversee market and customer research, analysis and reporting.
Visitor Experience: Provide direction on high quality and innovative visitor experiences and engagement activities.
Ensure visitor management, communication and habitat interpretation is industry leading.
Leadership and Culture: Display leadership in the promotion of workplace culture that supports Zoo conservation and sustainability goals, diversity and employee development, best practice safety standards, customer service objectives, and ethical decision-making.
Selection Criteria
Applicants should address the following four (4) criteria.
These should be addressed in no more than three (3) pages in total.
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of extensive relevant experience and/or education/training.
Demonstrated experience in working effectively with partners, such as commercial partners, government agencies, education providers, voluntary organisations and/or special interest groups.
Demonstrated experience in developing new products and revenue for an organisation in a complex environment.
Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team to deliver a united vision.
