We are seeking an experienced Night Porter / Security Officer to join our overnight team in the Front Office Department.

About the Hotel Shangri-La The Marina, Cairns is a luxury five-star hotel nestled along the stunning Cairns waterfront, overlooking Marlin Marina and Trinity Inlet.
With 255 beautifully appointed guest rooms, 18 versatile event venues, and exceptional dining options, our hotel is part of the prestigious Shangri-La Group, which operates over 100 hotels and resorts worldwide.
The Role Carry out security patrols of the hotel, pier complex, and hotel perimeter, ensuring the safety and security of all guests and staff.Assist with guest car parking, baggage handling, and other front desk tasks during your shift.Attend to guest needs and requests, providing exceptional service throughout the night.Respond to security incidents, fire panels, and emergency events, and assist with incident reporting and investigations.Provide a calm, reassuring presence to guests, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable environment during the night.Maintain professionalism and pride in your grooming and work ethic.What Makes You Perfect for This Role: Proven experience as a Security Officer, with a valid Queensland Security License.Availability to work from 11 pm to 7 am, including weekends and public holidays.A current C Class driver's license and current First Aid qualifications.Knowledge of fire panels and emergency response procedures.Previous experience in a hotel environment is a plus, though all relevant experience will be considered.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle security-related incidents calmly and efficiently.Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding service.Why You'll Love It Here: A competitive salary and performance-based management bonus scheme.Excellent staff benefits, including car parking, dry cleaning allowance, and generous accommodation benefits across the Shangri-La group.Duty meals provided in a fully maintained staff canteen.Opportunities for professional development through the Shangri-La Academy, offering lifelong learning programs.Be part of a global brand with over 100 hotels and resorts worldwide, known for exceptional service and luxury.Shangri-La The Marina, Cairns isn't just a place to work; it's a place to grow, thrive, and contribute to a team committed to excellence.
