The position can be based in the following scenic locations: Ayr, Brisbane, Bundaberg, Caboolture, Cairns, Gatton, Goondiwindi, Gympie, Longreach, Mackay, Mareeba, Rockhampton, South Johnstone, St. George, Toowoomba, Townsville, or Warwick.
The RoleOperating from within North or South Region of Water Resource Management, you may work in the following business areas:
Water management and use: assist clients in accessing water and quarry materials.Water planning: development of water plans across catchments for sustainable water management.Compliance: undertake auditing and compliance activities on water and quarry materials.Key Accountabilities:Undertake investigations and make recommendations on applications for water and quarry materials made under the Water Act 2000 and the Planning Act 2016.Provide advice based on technical knowledge of water, including relevant legislation and factors affecting water sources, users, and ecosystems.Prepare technical and investigation reports, correspondence, and briefings on water entitlement, management, and compliance matters.Engage clients in resolving issues associated with competing demands for water and resources.Consult and provide advice to user groups, the public, staff, and Government agencies on water and resource management to achieve sustainable practices.Support water planning processes, including the development and implementation of Water Plans and Water Management Protocols as required.About YouHold a degree or higher qualification from a recognised Tertiary Institution in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or equivalent.A current 'C' class driver's licence and willingness to obtain a manual licence if necessary.This position will require overnight travel (including to remote locations) and may include fieldwork for data collection.Have excellent communication skills, be a collaborative team player with a passion for learning.The BenefitsReal-world experience alongside technical industry experts.Attractive State government employment benefits.Develop your individual talents with support to thrive.Commitment to graduate well-being and learning hubs.DRDMW is committed to respecting, protecting, and promoting human rights in our decision-making and actions.
