This is a recruitment pool to fill Permanent (Sessional, Part-Time or Full Time), Fixed Term (Sessional, Part-Time or Full Time) or Casual appointments.
FTE varies across each region.
Fixed Term appointments include the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.
About the Role: WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is actively seeking experienced Consultant Paediatricians, registered with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP), to deliver high-quality paediatric healthcare across regional hospitals.
WACHS is expanding its developmental paediatric services, prioritising general paediatricians with a special interest in developmental paediatrics.
This is an outstanding opportunity for those keen to make a significant impact in a high-demand field while working with regional families in need of these services.
Our paediatric departments manage a wide range of cases, from general paediatrics to neonatal and developmental care.
As a Consultant Paediatrician, you will lead the delivery of inpatient and outpatient paediatric patient services, collaborating with Clinical Nurse Specialists in Paediatrics through outreach services to ensure consistent, high-quality care across regional centres.
You will also guide and support trainees, including Registrars and Residents in accredited Paediatric training positions, while mentoring Junior Medical Officers and medical students in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment alongside Allied Health Professionals.
Additional responsibilities include active participation in clinical governance and policy development to elevate paediatric healthcare standards across the region.

Wheatbelt – Northam Health Service and Narrogin Health Service: Where rolling fields meet welcoming communities.

Remuneration: The advertised salary range is based on classifications under the WA Health System – Medical Practitioners – AMA Industrial Agreement 2024.
Classification and level are determined by qualifications, experience, type of medical registration, location, and specialist assessment outcomes from the Royal Australian College of Physicians (RACP).
What we offer:
Generous leave entitlements Valued long service benefits: Long Service Leave - 13 weeks after 10 years of service.
Overseas PDL - 5 weeks after 5 years of service.
North West Gratuity Payment – Lump sum equivalent to 12 weeks salary after 3 years.
Location-based allowances which may include: Additional North West paid leave, District Allowance - regional specific, Annual travel subsidy (ALTC).
Increase your take home pay by utilising generous salary packaging benefits: Up to $9,010 on a range of benefits, Up to $2,650 on a meal entertainment card.
About the Pool: Joining the Consultant Paediatrician pool means submitting one application to be considered for multiple positions across WA Country Health Service (WACHS).
