Software Engineer Team Lead

The Squiz product team is working to deliver a cloud-based Digital Experience Platform (DXP) with several core capabilities including Content Management, Optimisation tooling, and Platform services.We're seeking a Software Engineering Team Lead to join our product engineering team on a permanent basis, with a focus on improving the Artificial Intelligence (AI) capability across the entire DXP. This role would best suit a current senior software engineer with team lead experience.Ideally someone who has recent experience with implementing/integrating Large Language Models (LLM) and associated technologies into SaaS based products or a keen interest in AI.This is not building from scratch so no python or data science experience is required (if you happen to have great but not a prerequisite).We're location-flexible This role is open to all candidates on the east coast of Australia - Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.This role is hybrid, allowing you to work where and when works best for you.For this role, we ask that you can demonstrate the following experience:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in related fields5+ years of professional hands-on experience in full stack software development building and maintaining large-scale software productsMust have experience in our DXP tech stack - Typescript, React, Node, AWSExperience with or a keen interest in AI tools, languages, and frameworks (Must Have)Strong understanding of testing principles and demonstrated experience in implementing testing strategies to improve software quality and robustnessExperience with Agile or other iterative development methodologies. We use Scrum for most of the teams, with some using KanbanStrong understanding of secure coding practices, particularly community standards such as OWASPPrevious experience leading a team of technology experts including software engineersNice to have:Experience with Amazon BedrockAn understanding of Content Management Systems (CMS), and/or Digital Experience Platforms (DXP)What you would do (the role day to day):Lead a team of engineers to help implement/integrate AI into our Digital Experience Platform (DXP)Work closely with our AI Product Manager to build and deliver an AI focused Product RoadmapDevelop/enhance robust application code which meets all technical requirementsCollaborate with team members to generate User Stories, Acceptance Criteria and estimatesProvide guidance to junior engineers and assistance to senior engineersWrite and maintain software documentationWhy work for Squiz?You'll work with some of the most intelligent and down to earth people you've ever met.
